The Reef Awareness is a social responsibility and sustainability program that articulated continuous improvements in the operations of our resorts in Playa del Carmen. Through 3 bases for environmental sustainability, we implemented more than 120 improvement actions grouped in 10 standards for the sustainable efficiency of the company of the tourist future.

At The Reef Resorts and Spa, our main purpose is to reduce the impact of the environmental footprint of our hotels. With a sense of responsibility and empathy, we are aware of the need to join actions with other agents, as well as to assign economic resources for sustainable activities in the three aspects of development: social, environmental and economic.

At The Reef we are awareness, we say what we believe, we listen to new demands, we observe our environment and we feel our responsibility to the planet.

As part of global climate action at The Reef Resorts & Spa we join the calls to action for the planet, allowing our guests to be part of sustainable activities during their stay.

We eliminate the single-use plastics, reduce the consumption of resources such as energy and water, have a waste management program, and organize beach cleanups. We have a conscious tourist manual detailing the ways in which you can contribute to reducing your environmental footprint during your stay.

Our collaborators participate in workshops to raise awareness and implement sustainable actions in the development of their functions.
